Programming Reference / Motion / Brake Resistor
The Brake Resistor block allows you to select how you want motor back EMF regeneration to be handled based upon your application.

| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| A | Select the Slot for the particular InoDrive you want to define braking resistor options |
| B | From the drop down, select the desired braking resistor function |
Brake Resistor Options
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Shared | The InoDrive monitors the DC voltage bus and automatically adjusts its internal braking resistor to minimize voltage regeneration onto the DC bus (Default). |
| Local Only | The InoDrive monitors only its local motor’s behavior and automatically adjusts its internal braking resistor so there is no voltage regeneration onto the DC bus. |
| Combined | The InoDrive monitors both the DC voltage bus and its local motor’s behavior and automatically adjusts its internal braking resistor to minimize voltage regeneration onto the DC bus |
| Disabled | The InoDrive provides no automatic control of its internal braking resistor and any back EMF produced by its local motor will be regenerated onto the DC bus |
