Introduction to InoWorx / Trouble Shooting / Connection Timeout

While attempting to send a program to the InoDrive, you experienced a Connection Timeout. There are multiple reasons why this may be, and we have them listed below from most to least likely.

Misidentified Module

Double check that the IP Address, Serial Number, or module Name that you entered was:

• Spelled correctly, had no typos at all
• The module that the Ethernet cable is connected to
• Powered on and in a safe state to receive a new program

Mismatched Network configuration

Double check that the InoDrive that you are targeting is:

• On the same network as the computer that you’re trying to send a program to
• Both the computer’s and the module’s network settings should be set to the same, either Auto or Static IP Addressing

Module Version Incompatibility

The InoDrive must have firmware newer than version 1.3.3 in order to support the TLS protocol that the InoWorx Programmer utilizes to send your program to the InoDrive. Usually your InoDrive updates firmware each time it receives a new program and keeps the module up to date, however in some rare circumstances your module may need assistance upgrading. Follow the below steps to update your system:

First click this link to download our auto-updater Auto-Updater

Windows computers will show this pop-up when you run the Auto Updater, click the underlined text “More Info”

The application will now assess your connected module, and determine if an update is necessary. If an update is necessary you will be presented with this pop-up. Click “Yes” to allow
This window will display the progress being made with the update. Once finished you can go back to the programmer and attempt to send your program again to the connected InoDrive
